A hard, co-solvent free, aliphatic, polyester polyurethane dispersion. This is a self-coalescing version of HD-4675.

Suggested Uses: L-3225 was designed for topcoat applications on a wide variety of substrates, including concrete, metal, plastic and wood.

Characteristics:
  • Self-coalescing at temperatures above 60 ºF
  • Contains no co-solvent
  • Produces clear, durable films with low levels of co-solvent (<100 g/L)
  • Excellent non-yellowing properties
  • Good water and chemical resistance

Application

N/A L-3225 can be used as supplied or blended with acrylic emulsions for spray, dip or rotogravure applications. It can be thickened with associative thickeners for knife-over-roll or similar methods.

Curing

N/A L-3225 does not require the addition of a coalescing solvent to obtain good film formation at temperatures above 60 ºF. Below 60 ºF the addition of a supplemental coalescing solvent like DPnB (2 - 3 % on total formulation weight) is suggested.
